Description:

As a substitute for organic sealants in a range of applications, SCS9000 does not sacrifice silicone durability for aesthetic appeal. It is specially formulated to reduce, and often eliminate, dirt pick-up, surface streaking and staining on many substrates. SCS9000 is a premium one-component, medium-modulous, neutral cure silicone sealant useful on a wide variety of materials in new or remedial applications. Supplied as a paste, SCS9000 produces a durable silicone rubber joint sealant.

PERFORMANCE:

  • Silicone durability – once cured, silicone exhibits excellent long-term resistance to natural weathering, including: extreme temperatures, ultraviolet radiation, and precipitation, with negligible change in elasticity.
  • Adhesion – SCS9000 features primerless adhesion to most nonporous construction materials, eliminating the risks associated with improper primer application on those materials and reducing costs associated with primer and subsequent labor. SCS9000 can be used with many substrates and finishes, including: glass, polycarbonate, vinyl, plastics, coated and anodized aluminum, natural stones, concrete, terra-cotta, brick, and wood.
  • Movement capability – once cured, silicone exhibits +/- 50% movement in both extension and compression, capable of withstanding daily exposure to various weather conditions.
  • Thermal stability (cured state) – remains elastic under a wide range of weather conditions, from –55° F (-48° C) to 300° F (149° C) and can withstand 400° F (204° C) temperatures with intermittent exposure.

APPLICATION:

  • Stable consistency (uncured state) – supplied as a lightweight paste, SCS9000 remains unchanged over a wide temperature range making the paste easily gunned and tooled in both hot and cold conditions.
  • Extended work life – allows for prolonged placement and tooling time.
  • Low sag or slump – allows for horizontal, vertical, and overhead application. Once cured it forms a strong seal with minimal sinkage or slippage.
  • Packaging configurations – available in 10.1 fl oz cartridge, 20 fl oz sausage pack, 2 gallon and 5 gallon pails.

AESTHETICS:

  • Low dirt pickup – special formulation results in reduced tendency to attract airborne contaminants and minimizes subsequent streaking from rainwater wash-over. SCS9000 is a viable substitute for organic sealants in many applications with the additional benefits of traditional silicone sealants—weatherability and long-lasting performance.
  • Finish – matte finish produces a non-glossy surface appearance.
  • Color assortment – available in eight standard colors, and customizable color configurations.
